Non-Surgical Vision Improvement

Vision Care Choices
Our office offers suitable patients various options in non-surgical vision improvement. For example, read more about Ortho-K below or see our section on Vision Therapy. We also provide consultation regarding lasik (laser vision correction) or refractive surgery.

Ortho-K -- A Non-Surgical Way to Correct Your Vision!
At Advanced Eyecare, we can offer you alternatives to glasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery. Ortho-K lenses offer vision correction while you sleep! This technology is a safe and efficient means of correcting vision without the risk factors involved in refractive surgery.

Orthokeratology was first developed in 1962. Since then, millions of people have experienced remarkable results in vision correction. There are no more risks to patients than there are with normal content lenses, and no lasting negative results have been reported.

Patients wear the Ortho-K lenses while sleeping. During this time, the corneas are molded by the lenses into a new shape, resulting in diminished nearsightedness and astigmatism. Some patients actually experience 20/40 visual acuity by the first morning. Most people have full correction within two to four days.

Some of the benefits of Ortho-K are:
  • It can be performed safely on adults and children.

  • It can be reversed, if necessary.

  • It is excellent for people active in sports, such as water sports, biking, camping, and ball sports.

  • The process is safe, creating fewer risks than laser refractive surgeries.

  • It is advantageous for occupations in which glasses or contacts are a hindrance, such as police officers, firefighters, pilots, athletes, etc.

  • Our patients often remark about their newly acquired freedom from the restraints of glasses and/or regular contact lenses.
